FINALLY A JOB!!! Deal or No Deal

So I finally got booked on a show after a long dry spell. Of course it's also because of the writers strike that's going on right now.

I got booked for another round of Deal or No Deal. It will air on February 4th, 2008.

I did see myself on the Thanksgiving episode and my parents are so proud. LOL!!

Hopefully the "rumor" that I heard on a message board that the strike is going to end around Christmas is true. Then I can get back to work.

WGA Strike

Well since I left the $60 a month signing up program, I haven't found any jobs. Which sucks, because I am practically broke and can't get a acting job.

But also the WGA strike is now upon us, so there won't be any jobs for a while. I'll keep looking and meanwhile try to find a part time job.

Thanks everyone for supporting me and checking out my blog.

Dumped my casting agency...trying on my own

Well I got rid of my phone service (a service which gets the jobs for you), because they cost $65 a month, and they would only get me one or two jobs every month. Which is ridiculous.

So, I am trying on my own to get jobs, and also am probably going to get a part time job. Cause it's hard to pursue acting, when you have no money to live off of.

Lucky I have my family. So hopefully I'll be posting here often with updates on what shows/movies I've got myself onto.

SCRUBS on my Birthday

I was booked for Scrubs on my birthday and it was fun. I was supposed to be an ICU patient. It was suggested I bring my own robe, slippers and pajamas.

The first scene they shot, they asked for patients and unfortunately I was in the very corner bed. The director even said I probably won't be seen, and if I was seen, it would be my slippers.

After that I was sent down into extras holding area. Let me tell you I love the Extra's holding area for Scrubs. They have couches, tables, chairs, and a television with plenty of videos on supply.

So some people read, slept, and watched tv's and movies while waiting to be called. Along with that craft services was opened all day. So you can go and get whatever you wanted at any time.

To quote one of my fellow extras, "This is the best day ever." "I ate 3 big meals, slept, watched tv, and got paid for it." "Plus it went overtime." LOL!!! Happy Birthday to me.

Saw myself on Earl, and hopefully Journeyman tonight

Or it might be next weeks episode, who knows.

Lately I've come to the point where I don't want to mention what day I'm on for fear of it being wrong, or I'm on the cutting room floor.

But I did see my hair, my arm, and my back on My Name is Earl.

Good News/Bad News

Good News: I should be on My Name is Earl tomorrow night.

Bad News: I don't really feel like celebrating, because my bunny rabbit died.

I won't be working at all this week, cause I'm upset.

Judge Judy

I did audience work for Judge Judy again yesterday. I absolutely love her. She does her job and she does it quick. We had 10 cases that she did and got out of there around 3pm. Other judges last til 6pm or 7pm.

When I get the air dates for the 5 shows (2 cases per show), I will put them on the sidebar.

Internet Interactive Video w/ Forest Whitaker

On Friday I got booked for a "Internet Interactive Video Game", being filmed at Universal Studios.

I thought, wierd, but okay. So check in was at 4:15pm I was a maid. I arrived early and walked onto the backlot and there was no one around. It was kind of creepy since I was the only one walking around this town. When I turned a corner I saw 3 men, and walked up to them.

One of them looked at me and said "Hi." It was Oscar winner Forest Whitaker. I said, hello and asked them if they knew where "Liquid Mountain" was filming. Mr. Whitaker, said they were going to be filming on the street I stood, and that there were other actors walking around. So I went in search for so-said actors. I didn't find anybody and came back to the street sitting on a chair that was left out.

Mr. Whitaker came out of one of the buildings saw me and crossed over to me. He said, "You didn't find anyone?" I said, no, and one of the guys that had been with him earlier walked over to us and Forest asked me for a pen. So he signed whatever papers the guy needed, thanked me, and handed back my pen. He was the nicest person.

So, finally we got checked in, through wardrobe, and on set. And none other then Forest Whitaker was our Director/Producer for this short promo for the video game. We filmed until midnight, then had "Lunch". I ate meatloaf and mashed potatoes, with salad and a piece of chocolate cake. YUM!! I absolutely love sets that go all out with their catering services.

Everybody was freezing and would have their jackets on in between shots. Around 2:30am, I got wrapped, and finally was home and in bed by 3:30. I was so exhausted and slept most of Saturday away.

But I'm wide awake now, and ready for my JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE CONCERT!!!!

Deal Or No Deal - Yes Again

I got booked for it again on Saturday, and didn't want it to go. So I declined and my god, you would have thought I had killed someone, the way I got yelled at.

So I said fine, and did it. This time it was actually okay. We were ahead of special. The sucky thing is they said 30 minute lunch, so we all ran two blocks to the local fast food places. We basically shoved the food down our throats, before the next show.

It was a better experience, and if it comes again I won't say no. It's money right, that's what I need right now.

The first airing of my NFL Promo was on last night :)

I tivo'd it since I was at Deal or No Deal. I came home and played it frame for frame, but didn't see myself. Oh well, I know I was there and have the pics to prove it.

I have two more chances to see myself though. Faith did one song for "Opening Night", one song for the "General Season" games, and one for the "NFC/AFC Playoffs".

So hopefully, they'll do different angles and I can see myself, until then:

Deal Or No Deal - Audience Member

So, I did Deal Or No Deal Yesterday, and I will never do it again.

Call time was 10:30 am, it took me two hours to get there with traffic. Then the contestants on the show take forever to choose a case and when they do the models take forever to open it. We had 2 contestants, and thought it was over.

But then the director said, no we're shooting another one. So I didn't get out of there until 10:45pm. They didn't feed us, they frowned upon us when we wanted to go to the bathroom in between breaks.

The chairs were hard, but Howie was entertaining as well as Marlon the guy who gets us pumped up. I found out an interesting tidbit though Howie did the voice of "Gizmo" in the Gremlins. I love Gizmo. And he gave us his "Bobby" impression, so cute.

I got home around midnight, and unfortunately didn't receive a message that I was booked for Judge Judy the next morning at 8am. So now, I'm in a little bit of trouble with my casting agency. So, we'll see how much trouble I'm in, when and if they call me again.

To SAG or not to SAG?

There comes a point in an actors "career", where they have to decide whether or not they want to stay non-union or go for union. I am at that point.

Non-union actors only get minimum wage $7.50 an hour/$60 a day
Union actors get $120/day

To become union with Sag, you have to pay the fee, which I now hear is up around $2400. Kind of hard for actors who have no jobs, because you never know when you'll be called for an acting job.

Then there's also a rumor that SAG is going to go on strike sometime this year. So, why spend $2400, and then not be able to work when union is on strike. Or, should I just sign up and take all the jobs I can, and then take a part-time during the downtime. Ugh!! So confusing.

I have to think it over. As of right now, I haven't had any jobs in the past two weeks, which makes me very anxious. I hope it picks up. I know shows are just coming back from hiatus, but I'm impatient. My mom tells me that all the time. So I just have to sit back and wait, and pray.

Will Smith Movie, was exciting.

I was booked as a spectator in a new Will Smith Action-Hero movie coming out July 2008.

It was called Tonight He Comes, but when it comes out it will probably be called Hancock. Will plays a superhero who can't do anything right. He goes to save one person, but by doing so hurts others.

So basically he hires a PR guy to help the public like him. But falls in love with the PR guys wife/girlfriend Charlize Theron.

I was there during a scene, where in downtown LA (Where we shot it), Will save's a police woman, then runs into a bank to save the hostages. I was standing on the corner with other bystanders/onlookers, for about 5 hours, filming the same scene over and over again.

But it was exciting, it was my first time on a movie set, and I enjoyed it. The craft services table was good too. I met a few other actors and after lunch, we played UNO, while waiting to be called back.

Will Smith smiled and waved at the crowd, and is much skinnier in person. He might have slimmed down and just leaned up for the role. He was in a black leather-type suit with green stripe and an eagle on the back of his outfit.

It was a hot day, but the crew was very nice and kept giving us water and sunscreen. I can't wait to see this movie, since I love Will's movies.

Audience Shows done...

I have done the judge circuit audience shows. I've recently been in the audience of Judge Judy, Judge Joe Brown, and Divorce Court.

No idea as of when these shows will air, as of yet. But probably sometime late September early October. Will keep you updated.

My Name Is Earl & Journeyman Experiences

My Name Is Earl, was fun. I was a family/friend, visiting my husband in prison. Since Earl was sent to prison in last season's finale.

Should be the first or second episode of the season probably starting to air, sometime early September. I don't have a date yet. The camera was behind Earl's head, and facing toward "Katarina" (I think that's her character's name). Anyways, I was at the table directly behind there's so, Aunt Char, you should see me. I was wearing a dark black top and dark blue jeans, talking to my "husband" (bald head).

Journeyman was fun but exhausting. All I did was stand in the same place all day long. So that could be bad or good. It could mean I'm a focal point, or they're going to cut me out. Oh well. That should air Monday Oct 1, or Oct 8th. It's an airport scene, and I'm near a pillar to the back right of the camera.

So excited for football season...And my NFL Promo Spot

A few weeks ago, I got an opportunity for an NFL Promo Spot. Not knowing what it was, I went and found out it was the opening song performed before all the regular season games.

So it won't start airing until September 9th, on NBC and only on the Sunday night games that start at 5 pacific time, I believe.

Faith Hill sings this years NFL themed song, and let me tell you she is absolutely stunning, and the sweetest woman. She was very nice to us "extras" who were her adoring fans during her mini-concert.

It was a wonderful experience, I will never forget. I can't wait for every Sunday.

GO PANTHERS!!!
