Pro Scout Event

Hello again,

I've been thinking about trying to get back into acting again. So last weekend I heard an ad on the radio for proscout having an open audition.

Basically you go in fill out a piece of paper, then get told to wait in lines of your age group, then you get approximately 1 minute with the scout. They either tell give you a card and that means sit down they'll talk to you after, or they tell you "you're not what we're looking for".

Which is funny, because I got neither, I got told, "You haven't had an acting gig in over six months, tell you what go do some stage work and come back in six months." So that wasn't so bad.

Then I did some research, and some people said it was a scam, some people said it's not. I figure I'll wit to see. If I get some acting gigs, I will def go back. If I then make it through to the next round where you get put in front of 50 top agencies for a 2 day showcase weekend, I'll then decide if I think it's legit or not.

Well that didn't happen

I didn't take care of myself like I was going to. I.E. lose weight (Hollywood is not friendly to fatties).

So I will try again, this time I'm not putting a date on it. I'll let you know when it happens.

Hope to get back into acting around July-Dec 2010

Right now I have a full time job again. Luckily this is the place I worked before I left to pursue acting the first time.

So.....I think because they like me so much and they asked me to come back, that they will let me have time off for auditions, etc. Meaning if I have an audition in the morning I come in right after.

But I'm not gonna test that theory until the middle or late months of this year, since I started full time this past October.

So hopefully the next update is I'm back into the swing of things.

Would love to get back into acting soon

But....not in this economy.

I have a part-time that I'm holding onto barely since it's retail and they are severely cutting my hours.

Wish I could go back to acting classes but those cost alot and I rather have health insurance right now then classes.

Anyways my godmother called and is going to buy Hancock, she wanted to know what scene I was in. How cute was that. Hopefully I'll have something to report back acting wise, otherwise I have other blogs. Books, weight loss, etc.

Part time job and some acting jobs

SOOOOO....After a year and a half of searching for an office job, I gave up. I threw in the towel and went to find a job at the mall.

So I'm working part-time right now in retail. That's good for me at this moment, because it means I can pay off the loans my parents and sister have given me. And I can save up the rest of the money until I find that ultimate "Golden-Egg" job.

Meanwhile on my days off I still do some seat-filling/extra-work on the side. A week ago I did the new talk show "The Doctors" and then I did an episode of "Dr. Phil."

It's a slow start, but hey I'll take what I can get right now.

Sorry, it's been a long time since I've blogged. It's because I'm a little depressed. I've been out of work for over a year and a half now. And it seems like no matter how many interviews I go on I'll never get a job.

I've even gone on second and third intereviews with the same company and they still don't pick me. Makes me feel useless. But luckly I have a great family who rallies around me.

I'm thinking of starting to get back into acting again. Only tv shows or game shows though. Just something to get money in my bank account since it's practically drained now. I didn't know how fast your money goes when you don't have a job.

Four and a half years I worked at an office and saved up and bought a car, but still I had money in the bank. Now I dread when a credit card bill comes in. I've stopped buying things I don't need, but I think 'Oh god, did I buy something last month on this card.'

So if I do get any acting jobs I'll post on here.

Finally.

But it still sucks for me, because of the strike, no work. No work, no money.

So, now I am working with a temp agency to find a "real" job. Hopefully I'll get a boss with flexibility but I doubt it.

Which only means, I'll be working a full-time job for a long time before I get back into acting, unless I'm really lucky.
