Part time job and some acting jobs

SOOOOO....After a year and a half of searching for an office job, I gave up. I threw in the towel and went to find a job at the mall.

So I'm working part-time right now in retail. That's good for me at this moment, because it means I can pay off the loans my parents and sister have given me. And I can save up the rest of the money until I find that ultimate "Golden-Egg" job.

Meanwhile on my days off I still do some seat-filling/extra-work on the side. A week ago I did the new talk show "The Doctors" and then I did an episode of "Dr. Phil."

It's a slow start, but hey I'll take what I can get right now.

Sorry, it's been a long time since I've blogged. It's because I'm a little depressed. I've been out of work for over a year and a half now. And it seems like no matter how many interviews I go on I'll never get a job.

I've even gone on second and third intereviews with the same company and they still don't pick me. Makes me feel useless. But luckly I have a great family who rallies around me.

I'm thinking of starting to get back into acting again. Only tv shows or game shows though. Just something to get money in my bank account since it's practically drained now. I didn't know how fast your money goes when you don't have a job.

Four and a half years I worked at an office and saved up and bought a car, but still I had money in the bank. Now I dread when a credit card bill comes in. I've stopped buying things I don't need, but I think 'Oh god, did I buy something last month on this card.'

So if I do get any acting jobs I'll post on here.

Finally.

But it still sucks for me, because of the strike, no work. No work, no money.

So, now I am working with a temp agency to find a "real" job. Hopefully I'll get a boss with flexibility but I doubt it.

Which only means, I'll be working a full-time job for a long time before I get back into acting, unless I'm really lucky.

Representation

So, I was contacted by an agency for possible commercial representation.

They got my headshot off of an acting website, and had me send one in through the mail. Then I had an interview with the commercial representative.

It lasted 2 minutes. She took one look at me, and at my headshot (another one) I brought in and said she needed a commercial headshot.

Well, shouldn't you have not contacted me by looking at the first two headshots if what you wanted was commercial headshot.

Basically it was a waste of my time and my gas because it was 100 miles roundtrip to their office.

Hello 2008

Well, I haven't had an acting job since the last Deal or No Deal. But that wasn't unexpected.

The only thing people can get right now are audience shows. Meanwhile, I need to find a part-time/full-time job with night and weekend hours I can work. So I can still go out there and act.

I hope this strike comes to an end soon. I'm getting restless.
